Polar Studios is a Georgia-based company specializing in creative properties development and production. What does that mean? It means that we bring our talented team of creators, writers, artists, musicians, editors and film-makers and lead them to bring original, new, and marketable creations to life. A Creative Property from Polar Studios begins as an intangible: a character, a story, a universe, and so on. The intangible then becomes the tangible: the character, story, universe, finds its way into a purchasable consumer good: a book, a movie, a DVD, a T-Shirt, and so on.
Care for Consumer Choice
While, like any company, our primary goal at Polar Studios is to be profitable, we seek profit in a way that we believe is good for the consumer and represents the shift that has happened in traditional producer-consumer dynamic. We think of our Creative Properties (characters, stories, etc) as the core of what we do, with the media (books, movies, etc) being flexible to meet the demands of the consumers. For example, you can experience many of the same stories of The Cricket™ as a comic book or a movie. It is left to the consumer to choose his/her preferred media. Guess what? It’s effective! A large segment of our audience watches The Cricket™ on YouTube goes on to purchase copies of the comic for their Kindle™ or Nook™.
Artistic Integrity
We have a special relationship with our creative force. While they are contracted for specific projects, creators are free to enter and leave the studio as they please. We even offer “shared licensing deals” with our creators in special situations, allowing them to profit from working with us, or seek other profits by marketing their creations without us. Most importantly, we take a structured “hands off” approach, letting our creators work in an environment unhindered by micromanaging. Everyone wins. We like that.
