Our Story
David—the protagonist of The Weekly, a new live action, episodic film from Polar Studios—is a budding cartoonist determined  to get his life together.  It all works on the page, so why is he having such a hard time with the people in his real life?  This strange group has to work together to make sure a local paper gets out on time.  If David has anything to say about it, it will be with the best comics possible! The Weekly rolls out later this year, but funders will be getting a few sneak peeks during this campaign.

The series focuses on the comic mishaps of a cartoonist’s pursuit of happiness and the cast of characters surrounding him:
David is a struggling cartoonist who wants to believe in himself, but really just believes in his drawing ability.
June is her own woman, fiercely intelligent and driven. She is a writer for The Weekly’s blog and shares a surprising number of interests with David.
Matthew is a terrible cook, an incompetent party host, and a mediocre roommate.  All that aside, he is a great best friend to David and a good writer, if he applies himself.
Ry is a terrible person.  He is an even worse cartoonist, despite holding this position at The Weekly.  He hasn’t figured out what he’s good at. He hasn’t had to.
Ted, editor of The Weekly, is both the scariest and the best boss anyone has ever had. He sees the paper’s bottom line and its human factor. He’s also quite… eccentric.
Porter is the universe’s handyman. He seems to be omnipresent and is uncannily wise. He’s also an excellent Salsa dancer.
